Nicholas Payton Discussion: Black American Music and the Jazz Tradition

New Orleans-born trumpeter, keyboardist, singer, and composer Nicholas Payton is a dynamic performer, steeped in acoustic jazz and post-bop, whose music often finds him exploring genres beyond the confines of the jazz tradition.

Payton’s discussion continues the Sixth Annual Jazz Festival at Yale, occurring April 13-15, which will feature concerts and talks from several leading figures in modern jazz, all free and open to the public. See the full lineup at:
