The Afro-Semitic Experience will be playing a concert at the Autorino Center at St. Joseph’s College in Hartford on April 14 at 7:30 pm. It will be a concert with many layers. First, it will be their first concert with their new percussionist, Jocelyn Pleasant. This will be a very special evening as Jocelyn accepts her position in the group. Also, during the evening the group will be sharing music from some very special guest musicians from the Healing World Project, a new program initiated by the center to feature music by immigrant musicians who have come to Connecticut from all over the world. The group has been working with Rahim Ramin a guitarist from Afghanistan who has been jamming and teaching traditional Afghani music. They will feature his music and the music of other artists involved the Healing World project.
